On the occasion of the University’s upcoming 80th anniversary, Wang Zhengqian, class of 1988 postgraduate alumnus from the Physics Department and Chairman of Hefei Anda Chuangzhan Technology Co., Ltd., has donated 1,000,000 yuan (RMB) to the Physics Department. The donation ceremony was held on the afternoon of August 15 in the Lecture Hall on the third floor of the Academic Conference Center, Tunxi Road Campus. Among those present were University Deputy Party Secretary Yan Fuping; Li Ying, Vice-General Manager of Hefei Anda Chuangzhan Technology Co.; Zhao Qi, Assistant to the Chairman; Tian Leilei, Secretary-General of the Alumni Foundation; Cui Jian, Party Secretary of the Physics Department; Gao Weiqing, Dean; Director of Organization Xia Fusheng; Vice Dean Li Zhongjun; Deputy Secretary Chen Dawei; as well as over twenty faculty, staff and student representatives.

Yan Fuping offered sincere thanks for Mr. Wang’s generous donation and his support and contribution to his alma mater, noting that this gesture not only reflects a deep bond between alumni and the University, but also embodies the long-standing spirit of “serving the country through industry” upheld by Hefei University of Technology. He emphasized that during his time at university, alumnus Wang worked diligently and pursued truth in scholarship—traits that laid a solid theoretical foundation for his later leadership in technological innovation and business development—and that his company’s work in popular science has made positive contributions to popular science culture in Anhui Province and across the country. The university pledges to make good use of the donated funds so as not to disappoint the trust and expectations of the many alumni, faculty, and students.
Mr. Wang Zhengqian fondly recalled his unforgettable years studying under Professors Gu Meiling and Wang Mingzhi. He said that throughout thirty-three years of entrepreneurship and innovation, he has always remembered the University’s motto—“Integrity, Diligent Learning, Practicality, and Novelty”—as well as its academic environment of rigorous scholarship, its spirit of “industry serving the country,” and its rich cultural heritage. These, he said, have shaped his character in constant learning, overcoming difficulties, and in his company’s pursuit of “creativity, innovation, and creation.” As an alumnus, he intends to lead his company in deepening strategic cooperation with his alma mater in all respects and continue to contribute to its development.
Wang Zhengqian graduated in 1988 with a Master’s degree in Physics from this University. After graduation he worked at the Hefei branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1992, as a high-tech talent, he resolutely went into entrepreneurship with a passion for “developing high technology and realizing industrialization,” founding Hefei Anda Company. In 2001, he led the company into the field of popular science, making positive contributions to popular science culture in Anhui Province and nationwide. In early 2022, Anda was listed on the Innovation Tier of China’s New Third Board (National Equities Exchange and Quotations) under stock code 873673. His company has become a leading enterprise nationwide in the design of content for science museums and thematic museums, having successfully built over 800 outstanding and vibrant science and culture exhibition halls. Mr. Wang himself has been awarded various honors, including “Excellent Communist Party Member of Hefei City,” “One of the First Ten Outstanding Youths of Hefei City,” the “Anhui Youth May Fourth Medal,” and “China’s Outstanding Private Science and Technology Entrepreneur.”
